Where did we get the name Little Big Sound from?

The chorus is based mostly in the greater Parry Sound area, so simple part first. The Big Sound is a large, deep bay of Georgian Bay, part of Lake Huron of the Great Lakes Basin. The town of Parry Sound is named partially after the great Arctic explorer, Sir William Edward Parry, and from the Big Sound, the world's deepest, natural freshwater port.
And 'Little'? For many years, Nancy Scott Little was the president of the Parry Sound Singers, the town's show chorus of women singing with accompaniment. She was incredibly devoted to that chorus and used to joke that the only reason she took on the huge organizational job was to make sure she was allowed to sing in the chorus.
As well as her involvement with the Parry Sound singers, Nancy served for many years on the board for the Festival of the Sound. Sadly, she passed away in 2013, and so this is our way of honouring Nancy and her love of all things musical.
Finally? Well, we’re a little group, with big sound. All in all, it makes sense… Little Big Sound. Perfectly describes who we are.
